There are six switches you must deactivate to deactivate the force field (technically there are six force fields layered together). This map shows their locations:

(This map is from Forge, obviously, with the upper levels hidden for clarity).
I assume you're talking about the room labelled "3" on this map. You get there the same way you would get to "6". However, as you say you've only hit three rooms so far, maybe you haven't hit 6 yet either. If you've hit 4 already, then it should be clear from the map how to get to 3 and 6 from the same hallway that you took to get there. If you haven't hit 4 either, then you must have hit 1, 2, and 5; though this map cuts off too soon to show it, the same hallway that took you to 5 continues south and then east around to 4, 3, and 6.
You can also get to them via that little passageway visible in the southeast corner of this map, which is accessible from the surface, near the first recharger/buffer/terminal. 3 and 6 are usually the first rooms I hit when I play this level, because 3 has an elevator which will take you back up to the hallway, so you don't have to go back through the main core area and back around to get to 6; you can just walk next door.
