Help with Marathon Red in "Jagermiester's Nightmar

Ok i am playing the level "Jagermiester's Nightmare" in Marathon Red and there is a place where i have to blow a hole in a wall. I have gotten the mines but i dont know how to put mines on the X area on the wall and have them explode. The mines that i lay with my CONCH MINER only explode when there is an enemy contact on it. So how do i get them to explode when there are no enemy's around?
