They're not on your side, they're just not set to attack you. The Pfhor and the demons (I like that term; I always want to call them all "nightmares" since they are the bad dreams of a dreaming god, but one of them is actually called "Nightmare" as distinguished from "Headless" or "Banshee" or such, so that can't work).... anyway, the Pfhor and the demons are fighting each other and story-wise they would also fight you but that level is damn hard enough as it is without getting shot at, so I just made all the monsters ignore you, since they're so busy fighting each other.
