In Response To: Re: Eternal X Final Candidate 2 (Forrest of B.org) : The compilers were there doing what compilers do, hacking computer systems.
Ah, I see. The dots connect now. Tycho seemed suicidal (nobly suicidal, sure, but even so), so I suspected he was in the first stage of rampancy. It fit, in my mind, because after getting released he seemed to move into the anger stage. He was definitely getting more emotional terminal by terminal. : Misogynist? How so? Well, it's just a feeling. The scenario requires you to reject a "woman's" direct, emotional appeal for company, even if she is a bit off the rails, in favor of an unemotional, male science AI. You and either Durandal or Tycho spend some time trying to destroy her, and then there's a level named after a misogynist, antique medical theory. However, now Leela's around, I don't feel like such a heel. : Which level was this, A Friend In Need or Unlucky For Some? This was in 'A Friend in Need' on the far side of the big door. There's an enforcer on the path/ledge directly across from the door, right behind the Juggernaut, who did my shooting for me. : Since the story-wise victory
I see. I don't know the engine. I assume you couldn't make the victory condition destroying the wires. : I'm a little confused here, can you clarify? Yes, sorry. Part of the problem is that I can't remember the word you used to refer to the components in Tycho's core. At the end of the level, the player turns Tycho off by stages. In each case, the lighted hardware towers that are his mind are in plain view when you flip the switch, except in one case where you have the option to reveal them first. People, like me, can get the order of the switches wrong: I turned off the lighted towers before I could see them. The realization that I'd done it in the wrong order briefly took me out of the game, that's all. One more buggish thing:
