In Response To: Eternal Story Analysis (Dav Flamerock) : Oh. Well then... you asked for it :p Woo! :-D : The Far Side of Nowhere: I get in, begin reading the terminal, get about
In pre-X versions of Eternal, there was just a file called Prologue in the folder which had that terminal text in it. Most people didn't read it and got really confused as to what was going on, so I put it in the game instead. I know it's long, but without an adequate explanation of when and where you are and what the hell is going on, people would be even more confused that they already will be with the multilinear time and all. : the new weapon. I was amazed at how much damage the weapon did, both to me
The Pfhor ranged attacks are actually more damaging than they're supposed to be, by mistake. The melee should be unchanged in actual Fighter attacks, but since your punches are already stronger than Fighter attacks, your staff hits have to hurt like a motherf[SHAFT]. Damn right. : Septococcal Pfhoryngitis: I had some trouble spelling this It's the unfortunate medical condition of having Pfhor in your sewers :-) : Dysmentria: I’m in a pfhor ship, I’m fighting pfhor, there’s lots of ammo for
The Hunter, Trooper and Compiler sprites actually are different from the M2/Infinity versions - I brought back their M1 styles cause I liked them better. Their colors are also slightly changed. : I read through most of what
Yay! I tried really hard to make Hathor a complex, sympathetic character. I'm glad some people actually like her :-) : Unwired: I teleport in, realize this is a new level, and I figure this must
Yeah, melee superiority emerged (unintentionally) as a kind of theme for Eternal's weapons. Not really surprising in retrospect because I absolutely adore melee combat - in Halo I like to get the plasma sword and charge headlong through the enemies ranks, cutting a swath as I go. Guns are for people who can't fight like a man :-) : I make my way to the save terminal and I … I eagerly anticipate the next installment :-)
