Well, seeing as they obviously weren't thinking "Let's see... what should the new S'pht be? And the new Juggernauts?" it's difficult to make any kind of relation.

Although the obvious correllation between the hunters in the two games exists - they have the same name, similar anatomies, and both are considered heavy weapons.
