: Has to do with how many monsters there are. If you nail a big group of
: monsters, and one dies, and the projectile gets back to it after it
: dies...kaboom. There's a patch for it, but it breaks films.
So wait, does P&V work like Myth's "dispersal dreams" - the damage spreads to anyone within a certain proximity, and can go back and forth between the same monsters? (I guess that would explain why it hurts the player too, at close range). I thought it just made the projectile continue through all monsters until it hit a wall, which is all I want it to do. Any way I could achieve that effect? I've tried giving the gun zero error and burst fire, but every shot in the burst seems to impact on the first monster at once, rather than the rest of them continuing through.
My next idea is to make the gun a "beam" weapon, firing a stream of such projectiles in rapid succession, rather than just a persistent single blast; but I don't think that'd be quite as cool, and would start to step on the domain of the wave blades (just run around with the WMC firing and everything dies). Maybe if I make the shots hurt players again (and make the blast radius smaller, though the projectile itself is huge) that would work; it'd be something like firing a stream of high-speed SSMs.
A related question: can a very large projectile (with no blast radius) impact several monsters at once? Or does it only hit the nearest one? If the latter, maybe I should make the projectile size tiny and the blast radius the size of the wave.
