There's only been the one demo release that I know of, but the project was still going as of the most recent post about it (here), and Nick was still around when Jonathan Tennant emailed him sometime between this post and this one.

According to this page, there's a version of BasiliskII for Intel Macs. You can probably run PID under that.

http://mac.the-underdogs.info/index.php?show=game&id=1234 is, as far as I know, still a good place to download it once you have an emulator set up.

PID became abandonware when Bungie sold their last copies of the Mac Action Sack in 2004. I'm pretty sure this post is the latest word on the possibility of it being released as freeware or public domain; with this one as additional evidence that MS still hasn't written back.
