FWIW I'm very interested in this, though I'm curious to know if it will run on my old Mac (dual G4 450 with a GeForce4Ti). Also, I seem to recall there being a PiD->Quake3 project at one point... are you connected with or familiar with that project? Cross-collaboration with them may (or may not) be useful for you.
