Agreed.

Myself, I always had the feeling that M1A1 had too much of M2's 'soft gravity' - the original M1 always had a heavier, more 'solid' feel to it. Play them both and the difference in feel is immediate and obvious, though, within the constraints of AlephOne, M1A1 really is probably as close as it's gonna get.
