I seem to recall that one being bound by position. It's \ on UK and US keyboards... if the picture here:
http://www.sussex.ac.uk/its/facilities/pc/keyboards/spanish.gif
is accurate, you should be able to get at chatting by use of <. The other option is trial and error...
