: Well, I suppose I could just re-enable it in the Windows environment for the
: time being. I plan to convert Mac OS X (SDL) back to using QuickTime for
: music playback, and Apple's stubborn refusal to add open codecs like
: Ogg/Vorbis and FLAC means I'd have to write a separate Ogg/Vorbis decoder
: for Mac users...blech.
I believe QuickTime can use Ogg Vorbis codecs... it's merely a matter of knowing where to put them. I know friends of mine have managed to have iTunes playing Ogg Vorbis happily, so it is possible to do such things. Naturally, such jiggery-pokery merely to play Aleph One would be rather silly, but handing music off to QuickTime could well improve matters greatly.
Do bear in mind that I could be talking from where I ought to be sitting when discussing this, though...
