S'pht Royalty
Posted By: MrHenDate: 12/7/06 10:17 a.m.

These are some thoughts and questions I typed up while looking through some stuff. These are not theories, they are the beginning of theories. I am mostly looking for pure, honest facts right now. Quotes from terminals or the Bungie elite. Feel free to add your thoughts or any information you can find.

The main focus is on the S'pht Royalty and what it means to be S'pht Royalty and how the royalty related to the Jjaro and the rest of the S'pht.

Once I have enough raw data I will probably begin some theory proposals. Again, this is extremely rough and mostly questions that have no real answers (yet). I figured some of you have a few thoughts on the subject, however. :)

"He was a S'pht 'royalty'--a creature that was a failed jrro."

Is a S'pht the same as S'pht "royalty"? Are they the same, uh, species? Are the S'pht royalty the same as a Jjaro?

Bob's Big Date:
"You are in the old bunkers underneath the
Citadel of Antiquity. S'pht royalty from
each of the ten clans gathered here during
the final days of the war in which the
Pfhor enslaved the S'pht.

I believe that in their time of need these
ancient S'pht found a way to contact the
lost clan, but were killed before they
could use it.

Underground with you are two old S'pht
computers. Find them so I can download
their data. We must discover what the
warring clans learned after they were
joined."

The royalty were "Ancient S'pht". What is average life-cycle of a S'pht? S'pht and S'pht royalty seem the same basic "thing" here. If the S'pht royalty are failed Jjaro, what are non-royal S'pht?

Perhaps they are not the same thing (?species).

They can be killed.

The clans were "joined". Is this allied, or is this literally joined? Are these clans in sync with each other, or do they become one clan?

"Yrro became an angry master, bleeding for
his failure, grieving for the loss of
Pthia. He broke the S'pht into eleven
clans, and spread them over Lh'owon.

And he spoke, yet covered in blood from his
exertion,

"I Yrro, who was your master, have failed
to preserve you. Take your royalty to
guide you, and live upon the paradise that
you built for me.""

Does "broke" mean sectioned off and categorized or broken? Was it like sorting marbles or breaking a piece of glass? Compare with the "joined" above.

The royalty can guide. They are intended to lead? Why do the Jjaro leave these "failed Jjaro" in charge?

"The royalty of the clans have shared their
knowledge of the S'pht'Kr, each Master
holding a line of the truth in secret and
another line in common.

Each clan possessed two pieces of the
whole, gifts from S'pht'Kr before
departing.

We know the truth of the Eleventh Clan,
that they awaited our unity to join us
again. These tunnels will be flooded and
sealed."

Each "Master". The royalty are the Masters of the S'pht clans. Is this a master-servant setup? Are they the controllers, the foci? Are they rulers, or are they something else entirely? Do they tell the S'pht what to do, or do they move and act using the S'pht as members of what we consider a body?

Is the unity undoing the breaking that the Jjaro did?

"Come and Take Your Medicine"

"I am F'tha, S'pht-compiler, your deeds
reached far into the S'pht consciousness.
The vile (?ugly) Pfhor slave us to more
powerful (?painful) machines, but we resist
them.

Freedom will mean nothing without royalty.
We are but the body and they our mind.
Find them, and all S'pht will be your ally."

More powerful machines than what? Than themselves? Than the older machines that the Pfhor used?

Than the royalty?

The royalty are the minds of the S'pht. These failed Jjaro are minds? What would a successful Jjaro be? What made the royalty fail? What, in this failure, made them suitable to rule (?control) the S'pht?

"The royalty (?mind) must exist because we
exist. It took us a long time to realize
this.

Mechanisms are in place to cripple the
Pfhor (?empire) when the unit is of one
mind.

You kill me, but free the unit-whole."

The mind must exist because the body exists? Are the Pfhor overpowering the S'pht royalty? The unit-whole could overpower the Pfhor, but not while the S'pht are broken.

Do the royalty exist while the S'pht are being enslaved in by the Pfhor? Do the S'pht contain the royalty? Where are the royalty?
