It's actually pretty well designed. My dad made a set out of scraps of wood and plexiglass. It's a litte confusing, but a good game once you figure out the different strategies. The limitations on how far pieces can move accounts for much of the freedom in directional movement, which would otherwise totally imbalance the game.
