In Response To: Rubicon Art Style (Tyler)

: As an aspiring artist, I wanted to know something.
: I'm sure the good lot of you have played Rubicon, and you've seen what kind
: of art scheme is throughout the scenario. In the most of the terminal arts
: and all the chapter screens, theres always that wireframe and phasing grid
: art style.
: I'm just curious: as a photoshop user, how can I imitate this style from
: scratch? What kind of resources do I need? What kind of settings would I
: need to have to imitate the chapter screen style art?

Resources: scans of technical drawings and math or physics diagrams. Older stuff in the public domain is great. Wireframe 3d renderings. Dirt brushes (like these http://www.psbrushes.net/photoshop_grunge.php). Free ones are best. Lots of layer effects - hard light, overlay, screen, color burn are your friends. The pencil tool with a 1px radius (hard edges). Pixel fonts.
