Ah--I had an athlon XP 2400+, radeon 9500 (softmodded to a 9700), and it choked in firefights, or around certain textures. I think "all graphics on" on the Mac isn't quite like "all graphics on" in Windows, which is why the Mac is faster. Perhaps, lacking Direct3D (and OpenGL shaders being as immature as they were when Halo was ported), Macs can't render all the eye candy, but that causes them to get a better framerate.

I guess I should have tried it on the Mac, I'm just used to Windows games running at least 2x as fast due to the slow processors in pre-G5 Macs.
