You just fought your way through the (just a *tad* bit) harder first level from the 'Lost Levels' expansion to Tempus Irae.
You need to switch the map file under Preferences -> Environment to the original 'map.sceA' as opposed to 'map - the lost levels.sceA' (or some variation on the theme) to play the original TI levels first.
