Alright, this is getting to be too much. This spam is coming from a bunch of different IPs, so it's not like there's just one bad spammer out there who I can ban. And it wasn't so bad when it was just spam messages on the board, but now they're pulling weird HTML crap which is actually breaking the page rendering. We have to do something about this. So I'm putting forward a motion to require registration to post here. I know how most people feel about that, and I'm usually very hesitant too, but considering the magnitude of this problem and the incredible ease of registering with a WebBBS forum, I think there would be great benefits overall with very little hassle to anyone. We could even put up a short line at the top of the forum welcoming newcomers and telling them that due to spam, a quick registration is required to post. What say you all? Yea or nay? | |
