Yes, no, and no.
That said, I never actually beat Confound Delivery; maybe if I went back and played the levels in order on Normal, I'd understand it a little better. But there still remain questions that can't be answered, and information that was omitted for no logical reason; for example, whether Mjolnir 54 chose to enlist with Tycho for some reason, or was dumped there by Thoth.

I don't think a scenario can even control the dates on terminals; they just start at some hard-coded value and increment based on how long you've been playing. (Although, if memory serves, Infinity originally had all the dates in 1900 instead of 2337; it's only when you use Aleph One that the dates are always the same.)
