Where is the Music

I can't imagine this hasn't been asked before. But never by me :D
Marathon 1 has wonderful music. So good as a matter of fact I frequently listen to it at my leasure, while doing homework or doing internet stuff. When I first purchased M2 I was excited to insert the disk and have the music tracks and my disposal. However M2 or MI have no level music. Why was this choice made?
