This is Halo related but it's probably best to not post it there, I always get bashed on that forum even when I'm not expecting it.

But has anyone mentioned how nicely Halo can be seen as an allegory of present politics, where the Covenant represents the US? =)

A bunch of people, originally from several different places, united by their faith... They seem to have good intentions but their leaders have completely misunderstood their own religion. They are managing to lose a war against a group of people inferior in both number and technology, and nobody really knows why the war is going on in the first place since both parties seem to think either that "they attacked first" or that the destruction of the others is the will of the gods.

Instead of beating me up, open your minds and expand on my entirely imaginary allegory!
