: But it's still way cool.

I dunno, it's always bothered me (along with all the other hiccups)...

...except for this one time.

I was playing Sorry, Don't Make It So with an assault rifle (I can't remember how long ago this was; it's been forever since I've actually played M2 rather than just vid specific levels, i.e., w/o the AR on Sorry) and I was in one of the many hallways with the Enforcers. I shot a grenade at the floor with the Enforcer in front followed by Fighters behind. Immediately after lobbing the grenade, I switched to primary fire and the Enforcer lifted way up into the air. I started nailing the Fighters behind me, but apparently I'd damaged some of them with the grenade so they died faster than I'd expected. Because I was expecting another grenade's worth of health in them, I shot another grenade at them.

As the fighters died, the grenade ran through their death animation. At the same moment, the Enforcer touched down on the ground but was still skidding backwards. The grenade continued along its trajectory and smacked the Enforcer in the face, killing it with a hard death.

That was one of my proudest Marathon moments, despite how totally random and unplanned it was. :)

...So I can understand that it's cool, if you push it hard enough.
