i guess that's up to the creator of that program to decide if it's free or not and if it's still possible to actually buy the program then you should do that...
although i bet if somebody would have the serial i am sure he would probably give it to you under the table, i would do that at least. The problem is that so far, i know of nobody that has actually bought that program or used it (except for you mb, excluding the buying part)
i bet it's probably cheaper for you to buy a really cheap old mac (70mhz CPU will do it, although it won't run Aleph One) and use Forge.
so if you really want to use Obed, then i think you will need to buy it legally, if it's still possible. And if so, it can't be that expensive (ranging from 2-20 dollars mb)
