We've most likely seen or met Strauss before, sometime in the past 300 years or at least in the past seven since he's been out of stasis.
But now the Pfhor have invaded and Durandal thinks Strauss has been kidnapped and so he wants us to go and find him on the Pfhor ship.
We're not finding him like we need to discover the mysterious enigma that is Strauss. We're finding him like he's lost and we want him back... or dead. Either way.
