I'm afraid it's the other way around. Notice the book claims to be by Xenos Ravenbeack. At the bottom of the page, there is a link to Xenos' biography, and he's a student who lists Pathways and M2 among his favorite games.

So basically, it's just fan fiction with Bungie allusions.
