In Response To: Re: Trojan Volunteers - Savage Streak (Dr. John Sumner)

: I actually enjoyed this level. It's easy to get back to the 3x recharger and
: as often as you wish. It's a good level for practicing using your Fists.
: After reviewing the level, there are only two questions I have, neither of
: which might be answerable. It's been awhile since I played Trojan, so I am
: not sure why I would have used part of one Alien Weapon on this level. If
: it was used to help defeat an enemy, I usually make a note of that. My
: records don't seem to indicate this. Steve, can you think of any place in
: the level where an Alien Weapon would need to be used? There is one of
: those hanging chicken things, but I am pretty sure I defeated it with
: Fists. The Alien Weapon was the only ammo I used on the level.

John, there are a couple of possibilities. The room with the destructible wires has an overlook with some monsters that shoot at you from above and won't come down. Although the level is exploration-only, perhaps you mistakenly thought it was an extermination level and you used the alien weapon to take them out. The other possibility is that you used it to destroy the wires themselves. They can be reached with your knife, but barely, and perhaps you thought you needed to use the alien weapon to do this.

: The second question concerns the apparantly unused level "LovePuppy
: 23" of Trojan. If you open Trojan in Pfhorte, this level occurs
: between Savage Streak and Eat Your Microwave. It's a vacuum level. I was
: wondering if anyone knew why it was never used? I assume it's not a secret
: level since it is not mentioned in the Trojan Spoiler Guide. However, it
: is possible to play the level as a separate level. Enter 22 when playing
: it from Option-Cmd-BeginNewGame. I played the level a few minutes ago. The
: exit terminal teleports the player to the level "Have Gun, Will
: Travel".

I didn't realize that the was an unused level in Trojan. When I last played the M1 version, I didn't have Pfhorte and didn't realize it was there. The level does not even exist in the M2/AO version. Looks like I'll have to play it, but if it is a secret level, it's strange that no one has commented on it until now. Just because it's not in the spoiler guide doesn't mean much - the spoiler guide doesn't cover most secrets and there is at least one M1 secret room that isn't shown in the spoiler guide. If you found a secret level, I wonder where the entrance is?
