In Response To: Lighting. (RyokoTK) Forgot to mention this part. Transitional lighting is generally a pretty easy concept to understand. If you have a polygon done in Light 20 right next to a polygon done in Light 0, that's pretty ugly. It's too obvious of a contrast. However, if you have a polygon done in Light 20 next to a polygon in Light 15, next to one in Light 10, then 5, then 0, it looks a lot better. Not only is it more realistic, but it's just pleasing to the eye. Consider a sunny day. In the shade of a tree, it isn't pitch black. It's darker, obviously, but it's not a huge contrast. If you're in a house with the lights off and the windows open, it's not pitch black in your house either, but it's probably pitch black in the basement where there's no windows. |
