With a teleporter inside it, that "beams" new rounds in. It's the only one that really fits. You'd think that Mr. Security Officer would understand the elegance of the loading mechanism if it were simple mechanics, like all the other rifles he's ever been trained to work with. Also, it's really not that hard to design a loading mechanism, unless Durandal wanted to use something really hi-tech.
Not that I care too much- as long as the thing keeps firing, the ammo keeps flowing and the thing doesn't jam (System Shock 2, anyone?) I'm happy...
