"Fundamentalists" and slippery-slopes

The strange and ironic thing about people blaming Christians for imposing* their beliefs on others is that practically every belief is imposed on someone at one point and would be utterly worthless if it wasn't. The belief that racial equality has been imposed on you for decades. The belief that you are human has been imposed on you since birth. Every belief you hold has probably been imposed on you. Many of those beliefs are good to hold and so you don't have a problem with it.
Some you disagree with and so you don't like it so much. I can understand that. What I think that many extremist Christians tend to do is over-impose their beliefs.
I'm just spouting a "be careful" because you yourself are imposing beliefs. Any time that you make a comment about someone's personality you are imposing your belief. You aren't doing it aggressively, and you are being very courteous about it, but it's still imposing your beliefs on others.

And that's a logical fallacy called a slippery-slope. Just because someone is a "Fundamentalist" doesn't mean they are going to knock-down skyscrapers or blow up abortion clinics. I know a few "Fundamentalists" and they are very nice people. Misguided, sure, but they wouldn't kill anyone.
* I suppose this can get buried into semantics. This happens a lot with me, so if I'm way off course let me know. I could have just misinterpreted what you meant.
