Maybe it's best we just start over from the beginning...
Download this. That's the latest official build of Aleph One SDL for Windows. Unzip it if necessary, rename the folder "My M1A1 Folder" or whatever descriptive you want.
Then, download this and unzip it if necessary. That's M1A1 SDL, direct from FileBall.
Then, move all the contents of the second folder into the first folder. If Windows asks you if you want to replace files with the same names, tell it Yes. If you want to be extra cautious, you might want to copy everything from the MML folder in the second download into the MML folder in the first download FIRST, then delete the empty MML folder from the second download, and THEN copy and replace everything else over.
You should now have a typically Windowsian messy folder with an executable named AlephOne.exe or some such, a bunch of DLLs, some text documents (licences and readmes), probably a folder full of instructions about MML, Lua and the like, a "Scripts" or "MML" folder with various .mml files in it, and some files called "M1A1 Map", "M1A1 Shapes", and so on.
Double-click the AlephOne.exe and you should have no problems.
...but then, I'm not on Windows so I can't verify that there's not some other snag I'm missing.
