man i remember having that teleportation theory when i was trying to explain how the gun of the main character in the Trigun manga worked like (that gun is cool, but in closer look it won't work) The problem was that the initial location of the shots was actually placed little bit higher than the barrel, so the theory was that the hammer was on the same place as the shots were placed of course, you pull the trigger, the shot travels around 4 centimeters and in the end of that travel is a teleporter which teleports it into the barrel so it can continue it's journey through the gun and out, and into a baddie. Now this theory is WEIRD but well, probably the only way to explain how that gun works. :P
