: I was in Skandinavia earlier this summer and I happened to see this symbol a
: number of times, once as a watermark on a framed cirtificate at Kronborg
: Castle in Helsingborg Denmark (That's the Castle that Hamlet allegedly
: took place in) and I also saw in Karls Kroner Sweden lanscaped into a
: flower garden. It's some international organization associated with the
: United Nation Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, that is
: concerned with preserving world historical sites. Anyway I did take
: pictures of these, thou I haven't been able to get them online yet. But
: anyway I was able to get the the logo off there website, although I can't
: read the fine print surrounding it.

really interesting, i live on Iceland, and i haven't spotted those here (iceland is part of skandinavia) and i've never encountered those on my trips to denmark and so on. but yeah, that's kinda interesting... i wonder if the founders of that organization were marathon fans :P
