In Response To: Re: Forge problem (probably easy) (me_43)

: Doesn't make a difference, as long as the physics file has the same name but
: with a P in the place of the first letter. (Or a T for terminal files)
: This is just how the map splitter saves the files.
: The level name doesn't have to start with L, either.

Interresting knowledge and perspective.

In this case it doesn't matter actually, but if he's ever to create larger maps containing both solo and net levels the letter before the mapname makes a differance.

LXX.mapname = sololevel number xx (not available in networkgames)
NXX.mapname = netlevel number xx (available in network games and ignores terminals)

You'd probably want to stick with numbers after the letter as a standard way of doing things. When merging maps larger than 1 level it's neccessary to have numbers/letters to make them come in the right order.

Honestly, after 7 years of mapping I can recommend to always do this:

solo maps...

LXX.mapname
PXX.mapname
TXX.mapname

Terminal picts (resedit file)

network maps...

NXX.mapname
PXX.mapname
