OK, we've finally reached the Med Lab, where the pirates are holding the Galaxans for experimentation. Remember, the Galaxans are just compilers by another name (and we'll have a 3rd name for them soon). We have two objectives here - to exterminate the pirates and to free the galaxans to try to reason with them. Unfortunately, we have no means of communication with them and we will end up having to kill them all. The task is critical, however, as the Galaxan's ship is badly damaged and could breach at any time.

So this level is both an extermination level and a puzzle - there are switches to flip to open new areas to us, ultimately leading to the area where the Galaxanns are being held. You start out in a room with a 2X shield recharger. I always arrive here with more than 2X shields, but if you're depleted, us it, as it will be deactivated as soon as you leave the room. You'll have a fight when you leave the room and then have to navigate the first of a series of narrow passageways. Flip the first switch you come to and when you get to a junction, go right and follow the passage around the the recovery ward, where you'll find a PB and a comm terminal from Mithrandir. There are many potential paths from here, but the most direct is to continue to the right (left if facing the PB) and up an elevator, deal with some pirates, navigate around a pool and make your way to the second switch. Flip it and head back to the recovery room. From here head back to that first junction and go straight across, then head up an elevator.

At the top of the elevator you'll come to another junction and some pirates to dispatch with. Head to the left and then right and you'll come to a room with a number of pirates to dispatch, but watch out, there will be more coming from across the way. Once the way is clear, continue down that passage way to reach the one and only recharger, a 1X recharger. With the way cleared to both the PB and recharger, you're home free. Continuing around will bring you back to the recovery ward and the PB. Now go back to the upstairs junction, head right this time, take out the cyborg and flip the 3rd switch. Next head back downstairs to the first junction you encountered and go through the one remaining door. This will bring you to a room guarded by a trooper. Once his carcass is cooling on the floor, head up the platform, but watch for enemies that teleport in behind you. Flip the switch at the top of the platform, the 4th switch. You will now have access to the room where the Galaxans are being held - it's off the corridor that leads to the recovery ward - and a switch inside will release them. There are some other areas on the level that need to be explored to complete the extermination task, but these are fairly self-evident. And with this we're off to Engineering,
