Agreed, the marvelous thing about marathon is that it is an EXPERINCE. You are involved in the story as the progresive element, a film could not capture that properly. It would be like making a movie out of Myst.
You are not simply told the story, nor is it all conveyed in obvious fashion. You are given a chance to experince it completely, there is no third person presentaion to pull you out.
