It may help.
The main reason why you are on this level is to rearm for the final battle on the Pfhor ship. Not sure why Durandal did what he did with the Defense Drones. Better minds than mine may be able to explain. The Durandal/Tycho exchange is a major plot thickner. Classic story telling.
