My wife thinks so, but she's always lived in big cities until now. We like to say we have a population of around a million people, but I think that's counting the cows, too. The area is heavily agricultural, but Rochester is a real city with an economic base based on education and industry. We have two major universities (the main reason I'm here) and several smaller colleges. We are also the corporate headquarters for Kodak and Bausch and Lomb, as well as the site of Xerox's primary operations. As you can guess, these companies are not as much of a factor here as they used to be (remember film?). There's a lot to be said for living in a city and to still be a 15 minute drive from the country. The finger lakes are a major vacation destination in the U.S., and the closest lake is less than an hour away. All-in-all, it's a nice place to be - if you don't mind a few meters of snow a year. But we have world-class snow removal ;^)
