: Vidding is the highest level of skill in marathon imo (besides being the king
: of network games).

While I'm not sure I agree with Sidoh that vidding is the highest level of skill, it does take intense concentration, quick reflexes and above all else, patience. Patience is the one ingredient I lack - I'm just not willing to spend an hour trying to get through a tough level only to die near the end and have to start over. Although the rules don't preclude the use of pattern buffers, if you want to have a saved film of the whole thing, you basically have to avoid them and play continuously - another problem for me since I rarely get that much time in a single block.

While Sidoh has given you clues on some of the tougher levels to vid, I would like to make a recommendation for an easy level to vid and one of the best overall for practicing your skills. True to its name, hands down it would be Eat It Vid Boi. Eat It has some large open areas with lots of monsters to take out, as well as some cramped areas that are a bit more of a challenge. The skills you gain vidding this level will serve you well, not only in vidding this level but in playing Marathon in general. With practice you should be able to play Eat It with fists only, not using any ammo at all. Once you get this down, you can play just about anything.
