In Response To: Eternal X? (Tyler) : hey, I'm curious. : Eternal X that Forrest is making, I just went around the Eternal website and
It's still using the original AO, as far as I know. The highly advanced "Bridges and Balconies" and 3D architecture-variations of Marathon were a separate branch of the source code tree that died out for mainly political reasons -- no editor was able to take advantage of them, and proper use of them had mapmakers jumping through highly complex hoops through which only a few could leap. I'm sure Steve or Dr. Sumner or the older folk know better. So they can correct me for being wrong. Ah, it makes me wish we'd gotten that B&B version of Tempus Irae that I saw up on the source.bungie.org screenshot section... |
