Eternal Volunteers: Viscera
Posted By: blake37Date: 2/1/05 5:42 a.m.

First off, an important thing about Eternal SDL, I found a patch on fileball that fixes the problems with both the orb (but that's already been solved) and the textures that are supposed to have holes, but don't. The only set missing s the forerunners set.

Ok, on to the task at hand, and one big qustion comes to mind: What is/what does Viscera mean? Huh. anyway, we teleport into a spiffy looking area witha few buggers, but nothing major, a 3x charger, and a patteren buffer. Thats right, no instructions this time, just that we are to slay the beasts. We see a path of lava to the next room over, and take it. The batlle is fairly intense, so we go back to whare we came from, and let them sort it out. the two MOAHs should be all thats left, and its worth noting that I think it should only be one MOAH.

So, we have in the room with us a slot for an uplick chip, and nothing eles. We go back to the other room, also nithing. Hmm, checking the auto-map....Hey! a place for swimming in lava! fun! We find a lrge room of lava and head left, into another large room of lava with an elevator and take that up. try to avoid the exploding ticks and pfhor that shoot at you and scop the area out. Hmm, maybe we should have gone right. But what is this? a window? prehapes we could try flying! It works! and we end up right back the beginning. hm. oh well, this time we go right. We swim thourgh a hallway untill we get to an elevator, but only half the room is an elevator, and we only have three pixels of health, and after trying five times and dieing, we get feed up and use some nrg, and after trying THAT three times, finely make it to the top with two pixels left, and to a nice 3x charger. After saying meny nasty things about the poor soul that made this map :p, we jump thourgh the door.

And striaght into hell. Hulks that are supposed to to nice little fire flickta, and what seem like 20 of them, give us a major headache as we weave around the small space, desperatly trying to figure out how to activate the elevator. We finaly do, and them almost get mowed down by a half dozen hunters, then a single enforcer takes away half our sheild and holds us off from out gaol for a good two minets while we try to snipe with the S'pht orb. Wow. The area clear at last, we jump around the raised ring untill we find a hallway, which leads to a MOAH, and a big ole door. Don't jump down the door yet, cause you forgot to get the up link chip, available by hitting the switch near the far end of the room.

Now jump down and insert the chip, only to be confronted by, you got it, *another* MOAH! Do the swimming to get to the small path across the lava, and them some more to get to the platform. Bewhare of enforcers. Follow the raised path, killing enforcers on our way. At some point we see a room on the lava that we can jump into, so we fooloshly do. We hit a switch, and get shot at from someone behind the wall that looks soild, but evidently isn't. To get back to whare we were, we have to do more swimming.

When finely we have regain out lost ground, we kill the rest of the enforcers, and hit the two swtichs on the wall near the end of this path. At the end we see a door, and go into a room with a small lava river. Said river goes into a room with a switch gaured by a hulk. argh. Take him out and hit the switch, whihch opens a door on the other end of the river room, which contains yet another switch, which opens the wall, which leads to nothing specail.

Turn around when we see that the teleport doesn't do anything, and go back untill we see the steps that we missed when we entered the river room. Hit the swicth, and we find our selves somewhare framiler, from our flying adventures. go onto the tower in the lava, and we see a thing of circutry. Tab that, and it repairs (a bug I assume) then fly back, and into the starting room.

The big piller in this room now has a door in it, so we go in, and nothing happens. What is this thing? Now comes the part whare we desperatly try to get out of this level, no easy feat. After searching for some insanly long time, we find that the exit is thye teleporter in the above paragarph.

This level has it's monents, but is very confusing, and difficult, and sometimes excedingly unpleasent.
