This should help...
Basically you need Aleph One to play on Mac OS X. But M1 doesn't work straight-up under Aleph One. That's where M1A1 comes in. It's a near-perfect port of M1 that is playable under Aleph One.
So get the most recent build of Aleph One at source.bungie.org, then grab M1A1 at the link below, and you'll be in business.
