I use to straddle both the orbits of bungie.org and forerunners.org until I realized a harsh truth:
Forerunners is like the kind, but less reliable younger brother of bungie.org.
Does anyone know what the primary purpose of Forerunners.org actually is? I'm not trying to be mean, I honestly don't know.
I had my site yanked during one of Steve Campbell's great purges once, and the guy never got around to getting the code finished for the Marathon Shirts site. He was busy tinkering with other things. Oh well.
What really bothered me was the bizarre downtimes. True, Campbell ran the thing out of his garage. Claude on the other hand seems to be well off enough to run the servers out of his house, but keep them rock solid.
I take pause to hug bungie dot org for this reason.
I don't hold anything against Forg, or its members - but if they like the downtimes and meandering nature of the Forerunners network, they're welcome to it. On a positive note, their hotline server is better than the bungie.org one of years past. Score one for the little guy. : )
