No, I think I meant what I said.
VidBoi said: "something that happened after the Fork and in the Haloverse would have led to the extinction of the Pfhor". Humanity find the Pfhor before they become as advanced as they are in Marathon, and deal with them. And in a miracle of probability traverse the galaxy without finding the Covenant. How the Covenant-human war started is pretty well covered elsewhere, I think.
