There could be secret codes and hidden messages in the Doom games too. Or in Alastair Reynolds' novels. It doesn't mean anything until you actually find one. It's unlikely for Bungie because they couldn't even get the game out on time; presumably a structure like that would have been the first thing they dropped in favor of staying in business. And they would have to give us a hint that it exists. There are plenty of places data could be hidden and stay hidden forever with nobody even looking for it, but what would be the point? |
