And the Nar Chronicles, and the Pfhor Mating Ritual(s), and the Pathways Hint Book. And there have been various cryptic statements by Bungie people, such as Hamish's interview with Greg, which sometimes help to clarify the story or allude to aspects not made clear in the games.

A Usenet post and a snail-mail letter are the only sources that actually say straight-out that the player is a cyborg.
