Can you possibly write down and tell me the script error message?
To install, you just unzip everything into your Doom3 directory. Make sure to retain the Pathways subdirectory structure. Alternatively, you can use the exe installer: http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planethalflife/blended/pathways.exe
I've been told the mod works with any version of doom3.
here are some very general solutions to try:
+make sure there aren't any stray pk4 files in your BASE directory. The only pk4 files there should be are: pak000.pk4, pak001.pk4, pak002.pk4, pak003.pk4, pak004.pk4, pak005.pk4, and game00.pk4
+make sure there aren't any odd commands in your autoexec.cfg file
+update your video drivers
+make sure other mods work with doom3
If you have time to do a full uninstall/reinstall, I would really appreciate it!
