In Response To: S'pht Text in Halo2 Menu screens (Blayne) Now i have stared myself blind and tried to take so many pictures of the text... The pictures turn out crappy, but there's one where you can ALMOST see something at the bottom of the post: There are several rows of scrolling glyphs, and it looks like no two rows have the same. Here they are from top to bottom: 1. Just lines. 2. Just dots. 3. Some kind of axis with evenly spaced, blurry unreadable markings below. 4. Mysterious glyphs that are quite alphabet-like, they could easily be interpreted off the screen if there was a key. Is it some alphabet they've used before? (OK, so it COULD be random scribbling, but... =) 5. Seemingly random glyphs. To small to see, but they don't look like anything. 6. Something, but it's so small it looks like a straight line. 7. The seventh(!) row... Well, the bad news is that it's not the fan-made S'pht font, pretty much every single glyph is either slightly or significantly different from the font. However, it apepars that noen of these glyphs are new - they are in Marathon 2 terminals! This is awesome because it's a pretty huge Marathon reference, and it's bad because we won't be able to decode it. Unless we write down the characters and compare the text to each of the winners in the hidden GUI text contest, perhaps... 8. More glyphs, similar to those in row 4, but not the same ones. 9. More S'pht. (9+7=16=7 ;) 10. Just lines and dots. 11. S'pht-like, but neither the fan-made font nor the Marathon 2 font. Seems blockier than S'pht, too. Here are pictures, I am so sorry for blurriness. This is the 9th row, the actual S'pht:
And this is row 11, the S'pht-like:
