A while back Andromeda_5[Kilo] posted a 3D model of the MADD from Marathon 1. Or actually, a 3D version of my reinterpretation. I laughed when I saw it, because when I read the post I was sitting in the first meeting of a 3D animation class I'm taking, and one of the things I was planning as a practice exercise was modeling that very same drone.
So here, with apologies to Andromeda_5[Kilo] is my version of the MADD in 3D... it needs a lot of refinement, and in this shot anyway it's still unarmed, but it's due on Wednesday so it'll have to do. This is the first real 3D model I've ever finished, unless you count "Salty the Seal" from the Intro to Maya book ;-)
Polygon modeling, produced entirely in Maya. It's untextured right now, I just applied some materials in Maya. It has way more polygons than it needs, and eventually I need to start working more efficiently, but it's a start.
