Shapes Stuff

I have a question. In Eternal, the textures, although they are being replaced via MML with 256x256 or 512x512 textures, also exist in 128x128 form in the Shapes File. Do they need to be there even if they're being replaced? (I guess a workaround would be to have 130 blank bitmaps for each set, but, do there have to be all those bitmaps, or could there be just none?)
