In Response To: Re: Pfhoraphobia in M1A1 -- HELP! (a disreputable source)

: What about Rescue missions? Do The Rose and Bob-B-Q work the same in M1 and
: M1A1?

: I remember someone complaining that a monster trigger polygon made it
: impossible to save enough Bobs, but that's a different issue.

Neither have I any idea. I first played the original Marathon quite a while ago, back when I was but a wee bairn and was absolutely petrified of playing it without my special invincibility Physics Model. All I really remember from that is that walls were stickier in the M1 engine than M2/oo, and that a large view area wasn't possible to get without sacrificing everything on the HUD. And that graphics tablet pens aren't the best substitutes for mice. For what it's worth, I don't think I ever succeeded in saving the BOBs, either -- I think I just shot them with my 32767-round grenade magazines. Or my insta-death laser-ish-sounding pistol which inflicted 32767-damage grenade explosions upon the Pfhor.

On a completely unrelated note, did you know that sometimes Pfhor will oscillate between two adjacent vertices on a solid line, stuck in the first frame of their Hard Death sequence, falling to the ground in a yellow mess literally minutes later? Just wondering, 'cos that never happened to me.

The Reason is... the Reason.
